Since 2016, SAGW has been continuously looking at SAP applications to innovate its supply chain. The company management teamed up with the Westernacher consulting experts and identified that the SAP solutions meet all their requirements.
To advance in big strides towards digitalization and intelligence of the supply chain, SAGW launched the company’s SAP ERP/EWM project at its headquarters in 2017. After a successful go-live, in October 2018 the EWM project was rolled out at a new SAGW plant with numerous automations integrated in the implementation.

Through continuous innovation, the automation of the entire process will help to save more than 80% of manpower (about 30 persons), more than 50% of storage area (about 2700 square meters), and more than 30% of cost (1.1 million US dollars).

Within this large-scale implementation, Westernacher has transformed the SAGW digital supply chain by deploying the sophisticated SAP technologies such as EWM and SNC. We used the power of data to optimize procurement processes with SAP ERP & SNC and built a digital monitoring platform to effectively monitor the key KPIs in purchasing, production, and inventory.
Our experts have reshaped the raw material, pre-production buffer and finished product warehouses by implementing the latest technologies in robotics, AGV and other high-tech equipment which has reduced the amount of labor required to automate the warehouse processes. The three-dimensional warehouse helped to maximize the warehouse capacity utilization.

The entire implementation was masterfully planned and orchestrated by Westernacher’s consultants, so there was no loss of a single business day.
